Many years ago, Malaria was dreaded as a deadly disease, because it was said to have no cure. If somebody contracted it, it was like a death sentence. Many missionaries from Europe who came to Africa contracted it, and didn’t survive. But because man discovered the cure, when one is infected with Malaria, it’s no longer dreaded as a terminal ailment. It was the same with Tuberculosis: those who were infected had to be quarantined or ostracized. But when man discovered the cure, it ended the fear of Tuberculosis. 

Man fears what he has no knowledge of. Once he understands it, the fear is gone. The mystery is taken away once knowledge arrives. It’s the same thing with the matters of faith. When we don’t understand how to apply our faith in a given situation, we become skeptical, judgmental, afraid, and unbelieving. But once we understand how it works, the confusion is removed, the mystery is taken away. 

All you need is the knowledge of God’s Word so you can put the Word to work. Once you have the accurate knowledge of the Word, nothing in this life will mystify or discomfit you; no matter what the problem is, you just know that you’ll come out victoriously. 

Those who don’t know the Word are the ones who get overwhelmed by trouble and defeated by the crises of life. Get to know the Word. Have an insatiable appetite for God’s Word. Hosea 6:3 says, “Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord….” Getting the knowledge of God’s Word is one of the most important things you can do for yourself; that’s what will put you over in life, and keep you on the offensive, against the adversary. 

PRAYER 

Dear Father, I thank you for filling me with the knowledge of your Word in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Nothing is a mystery to me, because as I meditate on your Word, the Holy Spirit unveils spiritual realities to me, enlightening the eyes of my understanding to know and apprehend my inheritance in Christ! I live triumphantly because I live by the knowledge of your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

THE BLESSINGS AND PRIVILEGE OF PRAYER - PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME

THURSDAY 9TH MARCH 2017 .

And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint (Luke 18:1).

The victorious and triumphant life, which is God-ordained, and His will for you in Christ, isn’t really possible without prayer. The Bible says, “...The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much” (James 5:16). Christians who don’t take advantage of the blessings and privilege that prayer provides easily become victims in life. Prayer is a privilege, as well as a right given to us to approach the Father in faith through His Word, and by the Holy Spirit. That opportunity of fellowship is something the Father always wants us to seize and take advantage of.

In Luke 18:1, Jesus said, “…men ought always to pray, and not to faint.” The ensuing parable He told emphasized the connection we have with the Father in our constant communication that builds faith. It’s one of the beautiful benefits of prayer, in addition to the conditioning of your spirit. Thus, you need to be a praying Christian, and not a “playing” Christian; take your prayer life and routine seriously.

Prayer isn’t something you do when you have a need. That’s where a lot of people have missed it. They see prayer as the avenue to ask God for things, whereas, fellowship—deep communion with the Spirit—is the higher purpose of prayer. When you commit to spending time in fellowship with the Lord, you’ll always be synchronized with the Holy Spirit; His will and purpose will be clear to you.

The power and import of prayer isn’t so much in the answers we get when we pray as it is the impact it has on our spirits. Understand that before you ask, God hears you. However, there’s something about prayer, especially praying in tongues, that affects your spirit and causes it to glow. When you pray in tongues often, the glory of God is revealed in your inner man, causing you to function with divine wisdom.

PRAYER

Dear Father, I thank you for the privilege of prayer and the tremendous blessings and impact it brings to my spirit. My spirit, through fellowship with you is conditioned to know and walk in your perfect will, and manifest excellence always, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

FURTHER STUDY: || James 5:16-17 Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. Everyone deserves and qualifies to be loved, including those you may perceive to be “your enemies.” Jesus said, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you” (Matthew 5:44). You don’t only love those who love you; you love everyone with the unconditional love of Christ.

“The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord. So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. If you listened carefully to the new year message... It will help you as this will help you. Sometime ago The Lord spoke prophetic words to me... This is the day of the thanking, singing and joyous church. What God is thinking about our future. This month begins another journey in your Christian journey...

This month is the month of prophecy. 

“But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:”

The prophet Joel did talk about this day

“Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.” - 1 Corinthians‬ ‭12:1-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Now, brothers and sisters, if I come to you and speak in tongues, what good will I be to you, unless I bring you some revelation or knowledge or prophecy or word of instruction?” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NIV‬‬.

This is the proper definition of prophecy. 

1. speaking by divine inspiration

2. Divine inspiration/ revelation

3. Foretell future events

4. Divine instructions or teachings

These are the things the Holy Spirit inspires us to do. We are all prophets in a sense. Everyone is not a prophet in the office of the prophets. We might do the work of a pastor, but, we are not all pastors. Here, we are not dealing with the office of the prophets but what God wants us to do. He will rather have us prophecy. We may all prophesy. It's one of the best gifts because of its importance. 

The one who speaks in tongues edifices himself and the one that prophesies edifices church. It provides direction from God. Things you couldn't know otherwise. It's revelation. It causes you to foretell. Show you things to come. Wonderful.

This month, you will prophecy. Desire it and you will have it. You are going to use it to change things and chart your course and help other people. It's a blessing to the church. The more you yield to the Holy Spirit, the more He uses you...

How can you get yourself to that level of inspiration? God is always talking, turn in. He's always on. Turn your receiver. In every situation. You can have a word for anyone close to you. Every Christian ought to have that gift. To edify, exalt and direct. You're going to prophesy like never before...

God told Ezekiel to prophesy... Yes, that's not the first time a prophet prophesy to a nonliving thing, Moses spoke to the rock to bring forth water. Ezekiel prophesy to the bones to turn into an army. It seemed that it didn't happen when there was no breathe. Yet, God told him what to do...

Don't stop, the Holy Spirit will teach you what to do next. He will teach you what to do. God told Ezekiel to prophesy to the winds to breathe into these people and life came to these ones. 

Sometimes you prophesy to the situation and it seems that nothing happens, prophesy again. Be in that inspiration mode. These are the things to do...

1. Meditate on the word - to bless a group or a church or a city or nation, meditate on the word of God. Take anything in the scriptures that blesses you or ruminate on the things that have been spoken to you. Withdraw your mind from other activities.

2. Pray in the spirit - start by praying in tongues and then get into praying in the Holy Ghost

3. Talk the known into the unknown - many years ago, 1982... 

The inspiration. Take with you words. They're from God. Start from there, the inspiration of the writer and you will transform and energized like that prophet and begin to prophesy. You will make things happen this month. You'll start speaking... Nothing will be impossible unto you...

Worship Him....
